Personally, I love when someone leaves me a review. It's always helpful to see what someone thinks about what they've read, it allows us as writers to see how the content is being interpreted. I've had readers inspire me to throw things into my writing because of something they said. I always try to respond to every review because I like interacting with those who take the time to give me feedback.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I don't always review when I read something. I know, shame on me!

I haven't done much reading or reviewing lately, though I do believe that reviews are very important. If you don't have anyone commenting on a story, chapter, one shot or whatever it is you're writing, it's discouraging.

  1. I love reviews. I get very sucked in by them. I feel honored when someone takes the time out of their day to say something about my work. I know that I make sure to review someone's work when I'm reading it even though I don't read much while I'm writing. I do have a hard time with criticisms though. I'm working on that. I actually think that the reviews are what keep me coming back to fanfiction and not working on my original works. I want that instant gratification of knowing that my work is entertaining.
