I absolutely love reviews but I am absolutely petrified of them! It's a complete rollercoaster of emotions when you get the notification that a review has been left for you! I am so worried someone will write something or feel something negative about the work I have wrote and, although I am grateful for all the feedback, I get postive and negative; because I can't get better without people telling what works and what doesn't but I think it all depends how it's worded.
But are reviews important? Hell yeah! I have realised now just how much! I used to review at the end of the story or after a really good chapter because I don't like leaving negative or even constructive criticism in case it upsets people but now I have written a stripy I know that actually it is useful so I always leave feedback now.
However, I do find the impact of how reviews can make you feel either so elated you could fly or so flat you wonder if everyone is just being nice because they don't want to hurt your feelings. So it really is like riding a rollercoaster and one you tend to want to keep getting that high feeling again so you keep trying unless you get one that really destroys you but let's be frank, no one from the fandoms we write for would be that cruel! After all, we aren't experts nor do any of us pretend to be so there is no need for anyone to pretend to be a proper harsh rip you to shreds critic- I hope!!
