I'm with Justagirl28 today! Writer, reader and blogger. I met her when she started requesting me banners for her stories. We chatted a bit, and I always wondered more about her and her stories, so with no further introduction, sit comfortable and let's find out more about her!

Q: Let's start with how did you end up in the world of fanfic?

A: I read the Twilight series, loved it, but felt it was unfinished. I found so much potential and intrigue with the Leah Clearwater character and her story wouldn’t leave my brain. I kept telling my sister about my idea for the story Untitled: Because No One Cares and she told me about fanfiction.net. It took me a while to actually get up my nerve to post but I finally did in 2009 and I’ve been posting ever since.

Q: Oh wow, that's a long time ago! You have many writings, how did you come up with the story lines?

A: I don’t really know. Sometimes I have dreams and I turn them into stories. Awakening the Elements was the sequel to ChemicalJane’s story on fanfiction. Remembering Leah started off as a game.

Q: When that idea for a stories pops into your mind, do you plan an outline or do you start writing as it comes to you?

A: I write as it comes to me. I usually will read the last chapter over and then start writing from there. It doesn’t always work well though because I forget what was in previous chapters and I have to go back further. I just don’t like knowing the end of a story before I even start writing. I like the characters to dictate where the story goes next.

Q: And what if the characters don't dictate you anything, how do you find inspiration when the ideas just won't flow?

A: I listen to music usually something instrumental and hope an idea hits me. If that doesn’t work I’ll start reading the story from the beginning and fall in love with it again. I know that when I’m blocked it means I’ve lost motivation or passion for the story and I have go back and find it. I think I’m lucky though I very rarely have writer’s block.

Q: Lucky girl, indeed! If you ever want a bit of Writer's Block mojo, I'll send it to you, I have plenty! *giggles* Are you working on anything right now you would like to tell us about?

A: I just started working again so I’ve slowed down a bit, but I can tell you about the story that I’m in love with right now. I am in love with my new story The Pack, it’s my first and it will be my last Blackwater story. I have never been a Blackwater girl but I came up with this idea because I thought it would be better accepted on the Tricky Raven website (I still haven’t posted it there, by the way). The story starts out using the 500 word drabbles that were posted on Tricky Raven and then I expanded on them and combined them to tell the story of Leah and Jacob. So it’s a PACK of stories combined to make one. It’s fun and I really enjoy it.

Q: *Saves the link of this story* So you're not a Blackwater fan, who's your favorite character?

A: Bella … just kidding! Leah Clearwater is my FAVORITE character. I can’t get enough of her. I don’t know why I just relate her pain, and desperately want to find her a happily ever after. I do kind of like that in the end of the book they say she was content and it’s good to know that a woman can be sort of happy without a man, but I just didn’t feel it was a good enough ending for the amazing she-wolf.

Q: Leah's my fave too, you've got to love that woman! Do you have any favorite writers? Stories? Fanfiction, books?

A: In the world of fanfiction there are only a few people that I really kept up with and read. I write more than I read mainly because I’d feel bad if I stole someone’s idea. Evil’s Sidekick wrote a beautiful story titled Words Aren’t Enough that peaked my interest into the whole Leaward realm. I then found the story The Oddity of Us and Stephycats7785, she has some crazy ideas but I love her. I like that she’s not afraid to take things one step further. She was the first darkward story I ever read and I guess it kinda gave me the idea to write The Monster Within. She wrote Eye of The Vampire which I loved!! I created the sequel to Chemical Jane’s The Heart at its Darkest, OMG this story it just was a whole other level of awesome!! I emailed her and asked permission to continue the story and I was so happy she said yes.

I love the Wicked series, Jane Erye, Pride and Prejudice, Warm Bodies, the Fifty Shades series, and of course Twilight.

Q: Now that you mentioned Fifty Shades of Grey, I know you wrote some stories based on that series. Do you support any other fandom?
A: I have only written for two other fandoms and both are kind of embarrassing in their own right. I have written three stories for iCarly and three story for the Fifty Shades series. All the stories I’ve written for those fandoms are future fics I just wondered what would happen next and went with whatever was in my head.

Q: There's nothing to be embarrased about! I think it's pretty awesome to like many fandoms and write for all of them! So if you had to chose a story, the one you're most proud of, which one would it be?

A: That’s a hard one. I’m proud of Remembering Leah because it’s complete and it has so many positive reviews… I don’t know if it’s my best story on fanfiction though. I think I personally like Awakening the Elements better. I am in love with Black and Grey and I am proud of the following it has! I don’t know if I’ve answered your question … if I had to pick it would be one of these three but they are all the best for different reasons.

Q: Many authors are writing their own stories now. Are you writing any original work?

A: Yeah I have quite a few original stories that I’m working on very slowly. I have a few of them on fictionpress.com Wide Awake, Filling the Void, Love and Vanilla’s the Flavor, Is and the Oracle… all works in progress.

Q: Nice! I'll have to check those out! How long have you been writing your own stories?

A: Since I was fifteen (I’m twenty seven now) but I’ve never finished anything original. I don’t know why.

Q: Have you thought about self publishing?

A: Yes, I want to!! I just would have to leave fanfiction alone and focus solely on my original works. I’m not quite ready to do that yet but it’s coming.

Q: Okay, we'll wait for you! Now, imagine I'm new on the writing business, what advice would you give to me?

A: Write for YOU! Write because it makes you happy and you have a story to tell. Even the most amazing authors have critics and have negative reviews so take flames as compliments because you still provoked enough emotion out of an individual to respond to your work. Also, reread your chapters before sending them out! I still don’t always do this but it makes the chapter a million times better if you do take the time to reread it.

Q: I never thought about flames that way! Now these mean people's comments would never be the same! *laughs* I think that as long as you have people who support you, you can get over bad critics. That brings me to the next question, does your family and friends know you write?

A: Yes, most of my family know that I write. They don’t know what I write, lol. Well, except my sister she loves Muddied Waters and is mad that it isn’t finished yet! She also likes Black and Grey.

Q: I know you have a blog, right? What do you post there?

A: I have my personal blog called BlackRose Musings. I put little pictures and things related to my stories, songs that inspired certain chapters. Stephycats made some trailers for a couple of my stories those are there too.

Q: Do you have any favorite sites to visit?

A: I like Tricky Raven. I love how visual it is and the contests they have. Fanfiction.net and FreeWritersandReaders I think that’s all the sites I visit. I think I like the format of Tricky Raven the best but I don’t get many readers for my stories because most of them have more to do with the vampires than the wolves.

Q: Okay to start wrapping this interview up... Why is your penname Justagirl28?

A: Honestly, I came up with Justagirl28 because I only thought I was going to write one fanfiction story. I didn’t think anyone was going to like it so I really didn’t give my name much thought so it was pretty random. BlackRose is basically about my poetry. I have the tendency to write on some really dark themes in my poetry and black roses symbolize death and darkness so that’s where that came from.

Q: Last one, anything else you'd like to share with us?

A: I just want to thank you for the opportunity to do this! It was really fun and gave me the opportunity to think back on some truly amazing stories.

Q: Thanks to you for taking the time to answer all my noisy questions! It was really fun to get to know a bit more about you.

I did this interview with the purpose to get to know more about you and your writings. Mission accomplished!
